Whilst in Edinburgh I was fortunate enough to visit the Royal Yacht Britannia. The Royal Yacht Britannia was home to The Queen (and her family) for over 40 years and is now berthed permanently in Edinburgh as a tourist attraction.

The upper deck now hosts a tea room overlooking the harbour.Ā  Plenty of well-dressed wait staff are there to assist you to a table where they present a menu with a varied assortment of light meals and treats.

Of course, when in former Royal premises it is only fitting to have tea and scones …and so that is what I ordered. I’m not a big tea drinker, but they had a good variety including fruit teas which, when sweetened enough, I do drink.

So there I sat, with my scone, jam and clotted cream presented on gold-rimmed Royal Doulton China and my pot of tea and teacup. If it’s good enough for Royalty šŸ˜‰

Half of my scone and my cuppa tea : )

Oh nice! What type of tea did you end up choosing?

Raspberry & Cranberry, loaded with sugar šŸ™‚ It was a shame we had to leave to get in a bit of ‘nap time’ before our late night ahead, was nice just sitting there sipping tea and eating my scone (that I couldn’t finish)

Nom Nom Nom?
